Harvest Of Beauty (Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher)

A beautiful scissor-tail cuts across the local landscape of Flint Hills and ripe wheat fields. These birds never cease to impress me with their beauty; it's not just the long, forked tail, but the flash of reds, yellow and oranges that you see as they take flight.

This painting was part of the Strecker Nelson FlintHills Landscape show or their sponsored exhibit at the Flint Hills Discovery Center, Manhattan, KS.
