Hidden Places

It was an early Spring afternoon when I ventured out to explore the hills. The light was still casing a warm golden color on the dry prairie grasses. Hints of green were starting to show through in patches. I found this wonderful view about a mile South of my house. Up at the high point, just inside the pasture fence, unseen when one stayed on the road. What was this concrete wheel's history? Why was it there? It wasn't being used now to help hold and stretch the current fence line as it crossed the rock ledge. Maybe in the past it did. A kestrel hoovered in hunt over the grassy field. Would it find success as it searched for hidden places.?
