It doesn't take long for one to find inspiration when they step foot on the native prairie of the Flint Hills! The Konza Prairie is 3487 acres of grassland that has been preserved and is managed by the Nature Conservatory and Kansas State University.  http://www.konza.ksu.edu/Splash/default.aspx

The public is allowed on a small portion of this natural gem. I set out early one day to walk its trails and plan a program I was leading "Nature Through an Artist's Eyes". This is a memory from the sunrise that day, the Opening Act to a day filled with wonder and beauty!

This piece has been accepted into the juried art exhibit and show associated with the 2016 Symphony in the Flint Hills

It was also enlarged as a huge, triptych mural print to be hung in the newly constructed dormatory building, Welfald Hall, at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS.

Prints available soon through kansasartgallery.artstorefronts.com/susan-rose
