Flint Hills Topaz

Late October and into November in the Flint Hills transiitino to a season of warm glows across the prairies dry grasses; my favorite time to paint the prairie. This scene is one from an early November morning, about a mile from my home in Wabaunsee County, Kansas.  Late rains kept some of the hedge trees hanging onto their leaves a bit longer, adding to the drama across the grassland.
