I host artist painting excursions every Month on it's second Saturday. This has been a tradition of mine for now more than 3 years. It has allowed me to immerse my senses at least once a month for a full day, in the natural world that is in my local landscape, the Flint Hills. The added bonus is that I can share this world with others not blessed to live out in it! I come away invigorated and inspired. September is my favorite season to be out. The amazing array of wildflowers that are able to erupt out of the summer sun baked soil is awe inspiring. God is so good at providing plants in their season, beauty out of dryness. Lots of parallels there! In September 2017, as tradition  put myself and a small group of artists in the midst of a 3000 acre pasture, surrounded by prairie wilderness. Gorgeous! I did my plein air watercolor pieces and walked about soaking it all in, shooting photos. This piece came out of that day.

This piece was accepted into the 2018 Symphony in the  Flint Hills Art Exhibition. Opening Reception in Cottonwood Falls Gallery on May 5th for viewing work. Auction will be on Saturday, June 9th at the Symphony Event. http://www.symphonyintheflinthills.org/events/
