Winter's Coming (plein air)

Second Saturday Paint Out December 2017. After a morning out in the cold wind, we warmed up to some hot soup for lunch then headed down into the timber line behind my house to be out of the wind. I had been wanting to do a study of this ledge of rocks above the creek. I have always liked the shapes and shadows in this spot.

I enjoyed working again with pencils and focusing on the details and textures of the trees. A few goats wandered over from the neighbor's pasture and entertained me as they began playing on the rocks. That will have to be another painting some day!

Currently unframed, so price to be determined based on framing costs, but probably around $150.
