A Welder's Spark

Plein Air from March 2018 as viewed in the 34 degree F morning looking South from SE Vera Road in Wabaunsee County, KS. It has been dangerously dry and we have had some exceptionally dry winds. Wildfires have been cropping up all week. Thankful for the efforts of volunteer rural firefighters for their efforts to contain these wicked flames at a moment's notice. This fire was started by a stray spark from a welder working at the area ranch. To contain this blaze the National Guard with their black hawk helicopters came to the aid, getting water from whatever nearby farm ponds still had some water. to help the battle.
