Annie's song echoed in my brain, over and over, Peace on the Prairie....
It's imagery stirred me out of my painting rut, took me to my studio and enlivened me to start this painting. Though her song is about an evening, this image was based on a photo I took of a sunrise on my way to work one summer morning in my lovely, very peaceful "neighborhood" with one of my many feathered neighbors greeting me.
The chorus phrase that echoed in my mind and stirred me to action:
"There is peace on the prairie - We can feel it deep inside
Peace on the prairie - We can see it in the sky"
Annie Wilson, "Peace on the Prairie"
