King of the West (Western Kingbird)

We are forutate in Kansas to have bother the Eastern and Western Kingbirds summer on our prairie. They venture our way from the warm winter home in South America to start feasting on our numerous insects by late April/early May. They perch on open branches waiting for a meal to fly by. Their aerial skills catching their prey on the wing, while the sun catches the gleam of thier yellow breast, is quite fun to watch.
