It was the end of winter. The hint of Spring's coming could just start being noticed by a green blush on the muted colors of the trees on the Flint Hills. A loggerhead shrike arrives to start seeking out the best terriority and sentry perches.

This piece was selected to be in the juried art exhibition and auction for the 2014 Symphony in the Flint Hills. It will be in a traveling exhibit in the spring and be available for sale via the live auction on June 14, 2014 at the event.
