Cardinal Rule (Northern Cardinals)

One of my favorite spots along our road is an out-cropping of rocks that our gravel road cuts through. This summer the sumac changed early to its crimson colors. With the morning light enlivening the vibrant colors even more, its beauty begged to be remembered in a painting. Of course thinking of lively red colored things in nature that would compliment the scene, I had to add a pair of male Northern Cardinals! The blend in perfectly in the foliage of this plant!
