East Side of Sunset

One thing I learned by spending many hours out on the prairie is to always look behind you to compare the beauty of your views. One evening as I was coming home, driving toward a lovely sunset, I checked, and sure enough the Eastern sky was even more vibrant and colorful! "The East Side of Sunset" captured that memory, complete with the winter flock of meadowlarks that inhabit the area.

Painted on birch panel, custom framed.

This piece was at the Kemper-Albrecht Museum for the Invitational MVIS Signature Member Exhibit which opened September 15, 2017.
