Bob's Catnap (Bobcat)

I have been wanting to do a bobcat piece, but only like working from my own photos. I couldn't seem to get one of a wild bobcat, though I do on occasion see them around our home area. In July I visited an area nature center on a hot July afternoon. They had a pair of bobcats in their outdoor enclosure who were being pretty cooperative with letting me photograph them. Of all the pictures I took, this was my favorite. The look of a peaceful catnap. Of course I transported this large, beautiful feline back to his Flint Hills home where they belong.

This piece was part of Beauchamp Gallery's Flora and Fauna Exhibit featuring my work (Fauna) and Matthew Ritcher (Fauna). Oct/Nov 2017; Heading to Strecker-Nelson-West Gallery January 2018
